Installation

Desktop

The software can be purchased from this page and the license will allow you to use StorePilot on two machines.

It can be downloaded for the following operating systems WindowsmacOS and linux.

StorePilot can easily be installed by running the downloaded executable.

After installation, activate StorePilot by pasting the license code obtained when it was purchased. License code can also be found by logging into your account.

If it is your first time using StorePilot, it will also work out of the box in a 7-days free trial period.

Tablet / Mobile

StorePilot can be found in the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.

No license code is needed.

Authentication

To attach your store you should type in the root domain of your store without any extra slashes or paths:

Now your browser should open and you will have to approve by logging in to your site and click ‘Approve’:

After this your browser should redirect you back to StorePilot and your products should appear in StorePilot. If you have problems with authorisation, please check out our FAQ.

Helper plugin

To get the full potential out of StorePilot it is highly recommended to install the Helper Plugin.

It will enable extra features such as:

  • Credit card reader support for Point of Sale
  • Capabilities
  • Invoice customisation
  • Tax settings will inherit from webshop
  • Translation support
  • Full barcode scanner support
  • Spreadsheet import & export
  • Media file upload
  • Custom product sorting
  • Custom sale label for product salesI

Capabilities

If you installed the helper plugin, StorePilot has an option to hide features for certain devices & limit default capabilities of what people have access to when they authenticate with your shop.

This settings can be updated from your WordPress dashboard below the WooCommerce menu section.

Also please note that only webshop administrator will be able to authenticate with StorePilot, your customers will not be able to authenticate with your shop.

Translation

StorePilot support localisation but it is only shipped with English and Norwegian. Adding additional translations can easily be done using the WordPress plugin Loco Translate. By also installing the Loco automatic translate addon you can have StorePilot translated into your preferred language in minutes. StorePilot is using the language set by the user connected to StorePilot if available.

If your country are using special characters like for example Chinese or Hindi you should also update your settings in StorePilot by changing to a font supporting your characters. This can be done in the settings page inside of StorePilot and will fix potential character issues coming when generating documents for orders.

WPML is currently not 100% supported by StorePilot, but we are working on support for this.

Export

You can export all your products, customers and orders to xlsx spreadsheets which makes it easy to deal with large amount of data. StorePilot will export according to your search results in StorePilot.

Import

This feature is not yet recommended to be used on webshop’s which are already live and in production, as it is in an early stage and need some more testing to be bullet proof.

But it can be really handy when setting up new shops. The import function uses the same template as the exported sheets comes out with. This should let you export your data, do your changes and drop it back into StorePilot which will then update your products, orders or customers for you. Data type is recognised by the header title of the spreadsheet rows.

If any rows is missing an ID, StorePilot will instead create a new product, customer or order.

The import function does currently support insert & update of the following data:
